SABRINA MADISON-CANNON
SABRINA MADISON-CANNON received her professional training as a scholarship student at the National Academy of Arts and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. As a soloist with the Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco), Ms. Madison-Cannon worked with such renowned choreographers as Talley Beaty, Michael Peters, Milton Meyers, Elisa Monte, and Lynne Taylor Corbet. After being awarded a Graduate Fellowship, she pursued a Master of Fine Arts in dance from the University of Iowa, and while there had the opportunity to teach for the American College Dance Festival. Ms. Madison-Cannon is the former artistic director and resident choreographer of the Black Genesis Dance Theater, an organization committed to preserving the African-American cultural experience. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Dance Division at Southern Methodist University.
